Why I Just Cant Get Behind Vicki's Secrets

I am still at Basic Training! Hopefully, I’m alive and well, but in the meantime, here’s a bit on how I feel about Victoria’s Secret.

I know I will get a lot of flak for this, but I can’t stand Victoria’s Secret. I hate their clothing, their bras, their smelly shit. I’m sorry, but if you feel the need to support a company that stamps the word “Pink” all over your ass, you need a priority check.

Why are women still supporting this company? Why are men still subscribing to their catalogs? Is the clothing actually worth the price??? I think not.

Plus, if you’re a woman who has boobs of any kind, you probably can’t find any clothes that fit you anyway. I don’t know where my hatred for Vicki’s began, but I’m sure it was in middle school when all the cool girls bragged about what they bought there and how they “never bought bras from anywhere else.” Then again, those girls never developed boobs larger than a B cup, but I digress.

I feel like women shop there because they don’t know any better. Vicki has made her store into some kind of secret cult-like club that women feel the need to be a part of, and I sincerely don’t know why.

I do not hate women for shopping at Victoria’s Secret, but I do pity them. I wish they’d branch out and stop trying to fit into this mold that seriously objectifies women.

I also can’t get behind their horrid use of sweatshopping and sourcing their products from factories where women are sewing lacy bras and matching panty sets that they could never afford, considering they’re paid like $6 a day.

I don’t know. I may sound hypocritical saying this because I do shop at some of the wrong places who are using these methods, but I am going to try to make an effort to begin buying clothes from stores that do not utilize these methods, as well as products that are made in America. But I do not buy from Victoria’s Secret and I hope you don’t either.

Let’s stop buying into this objectification of women and start thinking about what we really want for ourselves. There’s other places to buy cute undies. There are better places to buy bras. You just have to find them.

I’m sorry, but I just can’t get behind Victoria’s Secret. Never have. Never will.

Tell me what you think!
