I’m Taking a Break | See You in September

I hate to say it, but I need a break. It’s not you. It is most definitely me. I haven’t wanted to write lately, and I’ve hit a plateau on our debt pay-off journey. Mostly, I just haven’t felt like writing. I have fifty-some drafts waiting to be written. Some have been drafts since last year; other drafts were great ideas with no motivation behind them.

I hope by taking a break, I’ll be able to work on the drafts without the guilt of feeling like I’m falling behind. It’s not uncommon for lifestyle bloggers to take summer breaks due to burnout and busyness, so I don’t feel super bad about it. In September, I’ll come back with renewed vigor and some scheduled posts in my queue.

All things considered, I will still be around. I’ll be writing behind the scenes, prepping posts for my return, and responding to comments. I’ll still be following all my favorite bloggers on Bloglovin, and there’s always room for you to poke around in the archives of Rose Colored Water.

Anyways, the break starts now. I hope to share my summer adventures with you in September, as well as a huge, cumulative debt pay-off report! Let’s hope we can knock out another debt or two.

Any questions, comments, concerns? Feel free to write me anytime if you wanna talk about life in the military, money, or Colorado.

    1. Thank you! I hope so too. I’ve already felt better not having guilt hanging over my head. It’s even made me want to write more. Hopefully, I’ll come back with a full queue!

  1. I love your blog so much. I am beyond inspired. I was wondering, how can I email you. I just have a couple questions. I want to join the AF very much but I’m nervous and have no idea how to decide what to do.

  2. I hope you are enjoying your break! I can’t lie, I’m pretty jealous that you have the opportunity to step away from your site for a while. I lost two writers recently and now I’m really cramming before I go on vacation – not fun!

    1. I can only imagine. My blog is just for fun though, so no money is being made. I hope you find some new writers soon!

  3. I hope you are enjoying your time off and I can’t wait to see what you bring in September. :) I totally feel you on the burn out and hitting a plateau. June in particular was really hard for me and I hit a wall mentally AND physically. I feel like I have been slowing getting back on track since then. -Erin of Stay at home yogi

    1. Thanks for the kind words! Things have been crazy here. It has not slowed down at all for me. If anything, life has become more hectic. I have a few posts lined up for September, but not near as many as I wanted to have. I saw that you also have a lot going on with life. Prayers for a little bit less stress to come both our ways!

Tell me what you think!
