Happy May everyone! May is one of my most favorite months, and I’ll tell you why…
In 31 days, I will be married! In 3 days, I’ll have my bridal shower. In 4 days, my braces will be off! And in 26 days, I’ll be turning 25 years old.
And that’s where it all stems from. 25 years old. I’m not concerned about it. I’m actually embracing the day! It’s a bit of a milestone, right? It’s a sign that you’re an official quarter-lifer. You’re halfway there to being in those beloved 30’s. It’s kind of a big deal because… let’s face it, most of us haven’t had great twenties. We’re broke, tired, unhappy, and unfulfilled. Yep! I’m definitely embracing the age 25! It’s going to be a year of new beginnings and new life.
Anyways, because the number 25 is a great number for making lists, I dub the month of May 2015 as the month of 25! I’m excited about this. I think you will also be excited too when you see where this is going.
Is there anyone else turning 25 in May? Let’s be 25 together! On a realistic note, I have so much to do this month. May is freaking overwhelming as heck! Fitting in new content is going to be tough.
Just take a look at all the stuff I have to do before the wedding (May 31st).
Tone up everything.
The winter was hard on me, so it’s time to pick myself up and get back in shape. I want to look fit for my wedding. Plus, now that I’ll be heading to Basic Military Training in a few months, I need to start training so I don’t totally die.
By the end of May, I want to be able to run 2 miles, do 10 push-ups, and 25 sit-ups. I also want to work squats and lunges into my routine to firm up my glutes. I’m not a big believer in weight training, so I typically work with what I have. Here’s to getting in shape in May!
Unpack/store bridal shower gifts
My bridal shower is happening in just a few days. Even though it’s going to be really small, I’m sure to receive a few housewares. Since Mike and I decided not to move to a bigger apartment this year, we are low on kitchen and storage space. I want to make sure everything has a place before the wedding so it isn’t total chaos in June. I have enough going on in that month already, like changing my last name!
Send out bridal shower thank you cards.
I want to have this done before mid-May because I’ll have to start sending out more thank-you’s after the wedding. Let me reiterate how insane June will be.
Finish up the decluttering.
This has been an ongoing process for the last two months. With summer officially at the forefront, I can get rid of the final bits of winter clothing I won’t need anymore.
Make a list of after-wedding to-do’s.
I just don’t want to forget something vital, so I want to have a list prepared in advance.
Send my academic transcripts to my recruiter.
Because I already have my Bachelor’s degree, I can go in as a couple higher ranks in the Air Force. However, I have to show them proof from all schools attended. Such a nightmare, since I attended 4 different colleges. Word of advice: Don’t transfer colleges a million times.
I think that’s it for now! Hopefully nothing more will pile onto my plate!
