Happy February everyone. This month of love is going to be super tough for me, as I won’t be able to spend Valentine’s day or my husband’s birthday with him. That’s the nature of being in the Air Force.
January was a pretty good month, though a bit emotional for me. Even though I saw family and friends over Christmas, this time away is starting to set in and I’m struggling on handling. I’m sure February won’t be much better. That’s why I’m even more driven to accomplish every goal I’ve set for myself.
First, let’s look back on January’s goals.
1. Pass all block tests. SUCCESS!
I am moving right along with my Client Systems course, and even though it’s getting harder, I have no doubt that I can do this if I keep studying.
2. Take one Security + Practice exam per week. SUCCESS!
Every single week, I have taken some form of testing for Security+. It’s scary what testing can show you. My first test score in the beginning of January was a 52%. There’s nowhere to go but up right?
3. Pay the Chase Card down to $600. SUCCESS!
Actually, we paid it down to $575!
4. Boost the emergency fund to $3500. SUCCESS!
We’re actually really close to $4000 here, so I have no doubt by the end of February, we’ll reach that number, which will make me feel very secure about moving expenses in March.
5. Post 10 times. SUCCESS!
It took a lot of effort to get those 10 posts out. Mike says I need to cut back for February since Sec+ is coming and the hardest blocks of the course happen. I think I will set a smaller goal.
1. Pay Chase Card off.
I want this thing gone. I want it off the pay-off report completely. This month, I’m killing this card once and for all!
2. Pay the Discover card down to $5000.
See a trend here? I have big plans for February. Hopefully, we can make this happen. Then again, Mike’s birthday is at the end of February… so who knows if this goal is feasible.
3. Continue taking a Security + practice test every week.
I want to continue this trend. I think it’s a great way to get me in the mindset of how the test questions are written. If all goes right, I will start Security + near the end of February, so it’s time to get real with the studying.
4. Post 5 times.
Considering the Security + course starts this month, I am not going to push myself to post more than 5 times. If I happen to feel inspired and posts flow like a river, great! But I’m not going to stress about.
5. Pass the final block test and progress check.
I have my last block test this week, and then the final block course doesn’t have a test. It’s simply a progress check. Still, it will be difficult, as you have to take apart a whole computer and put it back together. I am a little nervous.
6. Finish out-processing.
There’s a lot of paperwork and out-processing still to be done in order for me to get out of here. A lot of it will happen in that last week of February/first week of March. It’s going to be super stressful.
How’s that for goals for the month? Cheers to all the success you can handle! Good luck everyone!
