If you didn’t know by now, I am a Spongebob Squarepants fanatic. Seasons 1, 2, and 3 are my jam. There are a few good episodes in the 4th and 5th seasons, but nothing like those first few years the show aired. I think some of the lines are witty and clever, and others just absolutely hilarious.
I love Spongebob Squarepants. When I was a kid, I had shirts, men’s boxers, posters, a snow globe, the stuffed doll, bedding, etc… I had a lot of Spongebob stuff. Unfortunately, I lost all of it in my family’s house fire back in 2006.
Spongebob Squarepants has played a huge part in my life. My friends and I quote it daily and I don’t think we’ll ever stop. Whenever I’m feeling down, I watch the show. However, I can acknowledge that the newer episodes have gone downhill and are freaky sometimes, but that doesn’t stop me from loving the early seasons when the show was in its prime.
I’ve had this blog up and running for more than six months now, so I think it’s time to show you a little bit more of who I really am. I want and NEED to share my favorite Spongebob episodes with you. If you haven’t seen the show, please give these episodes a chance, despite what your friends and family may think of you.
1. Band Geeks
Most Spongebob fans agree. Band Geeks was one of the best episodes to ever air. It may be the ultimate favorite. It made fans everywhere empathize with Squidward, and when Spongebob rallied the town around the cause to become the best marching band ever, we rallied with him! The ending was epic, and all of our favorite Bikini Bottom citizens rocked the Bubble Bowl like never before.
My favorite quote: Squidward: “Flag twirlers, let’s go! I wanna see some spinning!”
2. Hall Monitor
This is easily my second pick. There are so many hilarious lines in this episode. It starts out a little slow, but 8 minutes in, you’re busting up by the amount of chaos that’s incurred. I don’t think I can even pick a favorite quote from this episode because they’re all so good.
My favorite quote: It’s probably a tie between –
Spongbob: “Turn on your siren, deputy.”
Newsboy: “Take it friends. Arm yourselves with knowledge!”
3. Pizza Delivery
I will forever call a boulder a rock because of this episode. Spongebob taught me how the pioneers lived in this episode, and I’ve held his tips close to my heart ever since. This episode covers so many different things, I can’t begin to describe them all. From pioneers to first time pizzas to Spongebob singing one of the best songs ever… Pizza Delivery is chocked full of hilarity. You even see the softer side of Squidward. Please, I beg you… WATCH IT.
My favorite quote: Spongebob: “It’s not just a boulder… It’s a rock! A big, beautiful rock! Oh, the pioneers used to ride these babies for miles!”
4. Home Sweet Pineapple
As this list progresses, it’s getting tougher to rank these episodes because I love them all so much. As I said above, I quote Spongebob daily. In this episode, nematodes drink Spongebob’s house. He ends up living with Patrick for a bit, and of course, chaos ensues! Patrick is not the best roommate, to say the least.
My favorite quote: Patrick: “SPIDERS!!!”
5. Rock Bottom
You have to love Rock Bottom. I can’t really say much about it other than, if you haven’t seen it, you need to watch it now.
My favorite quote: Patrick: “Hey Spongebob. Where’s ‘Leaving Bikini Bottom’?”
And there you have it folks! These are the five greatest Spongebob episodes ever. I dare you to disagree.
On a side note, I’ve also included 6 contenders. These 6 episodes would be in my post “11 Greatest Spongebob Episodes EVER” if I were writing a post like that. Unfortunately, I’m not. So here is the name of each episode and a fun meme to go with it! Enjoy!
6. Dying for Pie
